Who We Are
Cornchella started as nothing more than a self-made opportunity to perform live.
After forming The Mild Animals with some friends in college, Cornchella visionary Andrew Johnston was desperate to find a venue for the clout-less TMA to play. From there, the grand idea came to light: a backyard music festival.
With just six artists comprised of personal friends, the first Cornchella was a surprising hit. An all-day event with over 100 attendees, it was renewed for Season 2 after just one episode.
The journey has not always been straightforward, but the community-oriented passion project has endured. After finding favor in a new backyard in Clarksville, MD, the event began to blossom into the legendary get-together it is known as today.
Since 2016, over 30 artists have shared the stage for an ever-growing audience of over 900 attendees. With an increased focus on community, Cornchella is returning in 2023 as a charity event. Stay tuned for more information!
